Product Manager, EDDS

Position Summary
Reports to the General Manager, Excipients and Drug Delivery Systems (EDDS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Customer Interactions
• Interacts with strategic customers to assist sales to drive growth in accordance with strategy
• Product Line Management
• Supports Marketing Manager with development of EDDS Marketing plan and develops assigned regional plans in coordination with sales
• Reviews commercial CDAs prior to approval
• Communicates special sampling requirements to support certain product promotion
• Leads customer change control notifications
• Authorizes special customer requests and product specification change controls
• Reviews quality complaints and resolutions and provides feedback as required
• Prioritizes issues with Quality – special specifications, additional testing, etc.
• Implements pricing strategy, develops and maintains price lists, communicates annual price increase
• Develops competitive intelligence program to provide strategic insights and relevant updates to Marketing and Sales
• Product Strategy
• Works closely with operations and logistics to optimize product mix, dual plant sourcing, SKUs & debottlenecking. Provides input for S&OP
• Recommends product strategy – pricing, positioning, promotion, line extensions
• Manages product line extensions as defined by product strategy
• Develops promotional and sales tools in coordination with Marketing Manager and MarComm

Education and/or experience
• Business or Technical Degree (MBA preferred) or relevant experience. Excipient experience advantageous
• Minimum 3-5 years experience with exposure to finance, operations and marketing

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• A “quick learner” of market dynamics, trends, product functionalities and competitive landscapes to bridge external demands with internal capabilities and innovation.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial performance factors, ability to conduct business analysis and recommend a product strategy
• Minimum 20% travel to global customer sites with sales team and to SPI plants
• Time management and ability to manage multiple projects and activities is crucial
• Self- motivated, results oriented professional capable to work with minimal supervision

Travel Requirements
This position is located at SPI’s headquarters located in Wilmington, Delaware.
Minimum 20% global travel
