Summary
The Commercial & AR Analyst will play a key role in SPI’s customer centric environment by partnering with the customer service and sales teams and the Actives and EADDS business partners to best serve our customers while achieving our working capital targets. The analyst will oversee the accounts receivable function to ensure timely collection of payments, accurate record-keeping, and excellent customer service. This role will monitor customer orders and credit and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and accounting standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the customer service, sales and business partners to best serve our customers while achieving our working capital targets.
- Oversee the entire accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, cash application, and reporting.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures; evaluate customer creditworthiness.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer accounts, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Collaborate with customer service and sales departments to resolve invoicing disputes and discrepancies.
- Manage commission payments to agents.
- Prepare and analyze accounts receivable metrics and reports for management.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to receivables.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and company policies.
- Manage relationships with key customers to facilitate payment and resolve issues.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Additional duties as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or currently working towards a degree in a business-related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles.
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with ERP software and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and provide strategic insights.
Work Environment
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid office following company policy – currently 1 day per week, plus one 3-day week per month
- Occasional extended hours during closing or audit periods.
